Join us for a final fall neighborhood event~ our first Community Health Fair at Sheridan Memorial Park! We will have lots of activities, resources, and giveaway items available. These include:
Produce Giveaway in collaboration with East Side Neighborhood Services
Books for kids courtesy of Pierre Bottineau Library
Free Haircuts from Stellar Kindness Project
Wellness Activities from NE Wellness
Blood Pressure Checks and STI/STD Testing from Neighborhood Healthsource
Lead Testing with “the Leadie Eddie Van” from the Sustainable Resource Center
& Resource Booths on Child & Teen Check-Ups, family planning, sexual health, mental health & substance use, and MNsure signup support
Everything is completely free! Additionally, there will be free dinner, a community supply drive (list of items here), and a chance to fill out our Community Health Survey which will enter you to win a prize.

Eat My Words Bookstore’s first in-person event! The show is set to take place in the drive way, weather permitting. We will be joined by the fabulous Open Eye Puppet Theatre Company with their new summer show, “The Amazing Cowboat”, as well as The Wild Blue Ice Cream Truck. Please bring cash to tip our performers.
THE AMAZING COWBOAT! It's time for Binh to take a bath! Binh's imagination comes alive as he pretends he is the captain of a boat that is part cow, part boat, and totally amazing! Together Binh and his Cowboat set sail on a high seas adventure to search for the lost crown of Lac Long Quan, the Dragon Lord of Vietnam, making friends as they go, all before sailing home to his bathtub before bed time!

Sheridan & Logan Neighborhoods

Location: Meet at Sheridan Memorial Park (1300 Water St NE)
We are teaming up with Dangerous Man Brewing again this year for our annual Earth Day Neighborhood Cleanup! Please make sure you sign up before arrival. You will check-in and receive a map of the area you and your group will be cleaning and then grab your tools and head out. We will have trash grabbers, gloves, and garbage bags available, as well as plenty of disinfectant spray and wipes. Mask up!

Join East Side Neighborhood Services on December 12-14 for a Holiday Drive-In Event!
Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train benefits local food shelves across the United States and Canada. East Side operate one of the largest food shelves in Hennepin County, and have distributed more than one million pounds of food to more than 6,000 residents in the last year. Even though the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train won’t be rolling across the country this year, the spirit will still come alive in Minneapolis. This event will feature a virtual Holiday Train experience, light show, holiday movies and a Holiday Swag Bag!

Litter Be Gone is a series of events to clean up litter across Minneapolis each fall; this year it is from October 1-10. You can participate on your own by picking up litter around your home or workplace anytime this week, or you can join us in a neighborhood-wide cleanup day on October 10th!
To join the cleanup, meet us at Sheridan School from 10-12pm on Saturday, October 10th. We will have gloves, bags, vests, and litter grabbers available and will be giving away drink coupons to all participants. See you then!
If you pick up individually, you can report your results using the online form (and earn a free Chinook Book subscription), and share photos on social media with @LitterBeGoneMN #cleanMpls.
Sheridan Neighborhood’s Anti-Racist Book Club presents a FREE Outdoor Movie Night!
We will be screening "Race," a biographical sports drama film about African-American athlete Jesse Owens.
The Anchor Food Truck will be on site selling Fish & Chips!
Friday, October 2nd 7-9:30pm on the field behind Exploration High School at the corner of 3rd St NE and 14th Ave NE. Please bring your own seating and dress warmly!
This is an outdoor, socially-distanced event, with masks required for everyone's safety. There will be a limited number of disposable masks available if needed.
*There will be space for an optional post-film discussion*
If you live in Sheridan, place items in alley or on curb by 9am on Saturday, June 15 and they will be picked up.
Examples: carpets, air conditioners, bedsprings, lawnmowers, building materials, computers and monitors. Please note that tires WILL NOT be picked up.
Guidelines:
- Truck Household Items with 50% + metal such as appliances, electronics, metal shelving, hide-a-bed,
- Truck Building and or Demolition Debris
This is only possible through our community partners at Dangerous Man Brewing.
